What's New: Paper on File Keeps Completions in ClearPolicy
TL;DR: Electronic signatures remain the default path in ClearPolicy. When someone cannot finish online, a team member can complete a pending request by uploading a signed paper copy so status and the file stay with that request.
Some people will not complete a document request through the email link. They may need wet ink, prefer paper, or simply cannot use the link for that step. You still need a complete compliance record—and you should not have to track that person outside ClearPolicy.
What you can do
On a pending document request, open the row menu and choose Record Paper Signature. Upload a PDF or image of the signed paper copy and confirm you obtained the wet-ink completion from that person.
ClearPolicy marks the request complete for the document version on the request and stops reminders. In lists, the status stays the familiar Completed (or Compliant) badge. When the completion was paper, a small upload icon peeks behind the status so you can tell the method at a glance. Hover the badge for more detail: the status line, plus a note that a signed paper copy was uploaded for the request.
Download the evidence with Download Uploaded File. That is the file your team uploaded—not the electronic document package with a certificate.
Electronic remains the path
A paper completion is not an electronic signature under ESIGN or UETA. It does not produce a Certificate of Attestation. Completions done online still get the full electronic record and certificate.
Use the email link whenever the person can finish online. Use the paper path when electronic is not practical and you need status and the signed paper copy in one place.
