Frequently asked questions
Do recipients need to create an account to sign?
No. They click a link in their email, review the document, and sign. Nothing to install or log into.
What counts as a valid electronic signature?
A typed name or checkbox acknowledgment is legally recognized as an electronic signature under the ESIGN Act and UETA. ClearPolicy records the signature with a timestamp, IP address, and device details.
What if someone ignores the request?
You can send reminders from the dashboard. You'll also see exactly when the request was sent, viewed, and whether it's still pending.
What's captured when someone signs?
Timestamp, IP address, browser/device details, and the exact document revision they signed. All exportable as a PDF.
What happens if someone claims they never received it?
ClearPolicy logs when the request was sent and when the signing page was viewed — before the signature ever happens. That activity is part of the audit trail.
Can I report compliance status to leadership or auditors?
Yes. ClearPolicy includes compliance reports showing acknowledgment status across your organization — filterable by document or group, with print-to-PDF and CSV export.
Are records kept if I cancel my subscription?
Yes. Completed attestation records are retained regardless of subscription status.
How long does it take to get started?
Most organizations send their first request within 15 minutes. No training required.
Can I get help getting started?
Yes. We offer a free onboarding call to help you import your contacts, set up your first policy, and send your first request. Email [email protected] and we'll get you set up.
Can policies be set to renew automatically?
Yes. Each document has its own recurrence settings — choose an interval and enable auto-send. ClearPolicy handles the requests automatically on that schedule, with every cycle added to the audit trail.
