Refund Policy
Last updated: July 18, 2026
This Refund Policy explains when ClearPolicy, operated by Laconic Company LLC ("ClearPolicy," "we," "our," or "us"), issues refunds for paid subscriptions. It supplements our Terms of Service. If there is a conflict between this page and the Terms about refunds, this Refund Policy controls for refund questions.
Month-to-month billing
ClearPolicy is billed month to month. Paid plans renew automatically each billing period until you cancel. There is no long-term contract requirement.
No refunds for ordinary use or cancellation
Except as described under Billing mistakes below, we do not offer refunds for:
- Partial months or unused time in a billing period
- Cancellation mid-period (access continues until the period ends)
- Change of mind, unused features, or a decision that ClearPolicy is not a fit
- Downtime, support response times, or dissatisfaction with the product
When you cancel, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep access to paid features until that date. We do not prorate the final period.
Billing mistakes
We will correct genuine billing errors. If we charged you in error — for example a double charge, a charge after a confirmed cancellation that should not have billed, or an amount that does not match the plan you subscribed to — contact us and we will investigate and, when we confirm a mistake, refund or reverse the incorrect charge.
This exception covers billing and payment processing errors. It does not create a general right to a refund for any other reason.
How to request a billing correction
Email [email protected] with:
- Your organization name in ClearPolicy
- The email on the account
- The date and amount of the charge
- A short description of the problem (for example, "charged twice on the same day")
Do not send full payment card numbers by email. Last four digits of the card or a Stripe receipt reference are enough.
We usually reply the same US business day (Mountain Time). Confirmed billing mistakes are refunded to the original payment method when possible.
How to cancel
You may cancel at any time from your organization's billing settings in ClearPolicy, or by contacting [email protected]. Cancellation stops future renewals; it does not refund the current period. See also our Support page and Terms of Service (Payment and Billing).
Free trial
New organizations receive a free trial as described in the Terms of Service. No payment is required during the trial, so there is nothing to refund for trial-only use.
Changes
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do. Material changes to how we handle refunds for active subscribers will be communicated in line with our Terms of Service.
